Most people recognise the Uniroyal brand. It began life as the United States Rubber Company, founded in Naugatuck, Connecticut in 1892. The company didn’t take on the Uniroyal name until 1961, and it has remained in place ever since.

Rubber manufacturing was a major industry in Naugatuck, Connecticut back in 1892. In fact, the United States Rubber Company, as it began life, was an amalgamation of several rubber companies in the area.
