The history of Kumho
Some tyre companies had their beginnings well over a century ago. Kumho, however, dates back a little more recently than that – albeit still to the beginning of the Sixties. As the new decade got underway, it began life as Samyang Tire in South Korea.
It later became part of the Kumho Asiana Group, founded by Park In-chon. Today, they have an official UK arm, Kumho Tyre (UK) Ltd, based in Rugby. They first established themselves in the UK back in 1977 and have remained here since. You can find Kumho tyres on a range of cars rolling off production lines managed by companies from Mercedes-Benz to Hyundai.
